Brand-intent search

Why finding a real Savant installer in LA is harder than it should be

Savant's dealer network is deliberately smaller than Control4's, and many Los Angeles integrators list the logo without maintaining an active Savant practice. Buyers who specifically want Savant — usually for its refined, Apple-like interface and scene design — often struggle to find a dealer who installs it, programs it, and will still answer the phone in year three.

Innov8av runs a full Savant practice under one roof: new installation, programming, service, repair, and takeover of Savant systems whose original dealer disappeared. One accountable, licensed team for the whole life of the system.

Scene-first design

Savant is strongest when mornings, evenings, movie nights and away modes are designed as scenes — lighting, shades, climate and music moving together from one app.

Whole-home + entertainment

Distributed audio and video, theater integration, and room-by-room entertainment are core Savant strengths — planned alongside security and networking.

Network backbone

Every Savant design includes the wired and wireless backbone it depends on — enterprise access points, segmented VLANs and clean rack builds.

Retrofit & takeover

Existing Savant homes can usually be upgraded, re-programmed or adopted — including orphaned systems whose original dealer went out of business.

The Savant practice

What a full Savant installer should actually cover

A Savant project is more than mounting hardware. It is scene design, programming discipline, a network that never becomes the weak link, and a support relationship that outlasts the install.
  • System design around rooms, routines and the family's daily patterns — before equipment is specified
  • Savant scenes, lighting and climate programmed and revised until they match how the home is really used
  • Integration with security, cameras, intercom, shades and distributed AV as one system
  • Ongoing service, remote diagnostics, and takeover of Savant systems we did not originally install

Best fit

Design-led homes, luxury estates, media-centric residences and owners who want one refined app for everything.

Often paired with

Lutron lighting and shades, JVC home theater, enterprise Wi‑Fi, structured cabling and monitored security.

Frequently asked questions

Savant questions that come up early

How do I choose a Savant installer in Los Angeles?

Savant's dealer network is smaller than Control4's, so verifying an active practice matters even more. Check current Savant dealer authorization, a California contractor license (Innov8av holds C-10 plus alarm license ACO 7755), and whether the company services Savant systems it did not install. Innov8av installs, programs, services and takes over Savant county-wide — insured and bonded, since 2016, 5.0/5 across 22 verified Reviews.io reviews, BBB A+.

Can you work on an existing Savant system?

Yes. We service, repair, upgrade and take over existing Savant installations — including orphaned systems whose original dealer went out of business. Configuration and equipment can usually be preserved and re-registered rather than replaced.

Is Savant only for large luxury estates?

No. Savant scales from a single media room to full-estate control, but it is strongest in design-led homes where the owner wants one refined app for lighting, climate, shades, entertainment and security.

Savant or Control4 for my LA home?

It depends on interface preference, subsystem mix and budget. Savant is often favored for its Apple-like experience and scene design; Control4 for breadth of integrations. We install and service both — see the full comparison.

Does a Savant system need strong networking?

Yes. A stable, properly segmented network is the foundation of a dependable Savant experience — we plan enterprise-grade Wi‑Fi and wired backbones as part of every design.

How much does a Savant smart home cost in Los Angeles?

Smart home automation projects in Los Angeles typically range from $5,000–$50,000; full-estate Savant deployments with motorized shades, climate zoning and landscape lighting reach $40,000–$50,000. Every proposal is an itemized line-item breakdown after an on-site survey.

Is Innov8av an authorized Savant dealer in Los Angeles?

Yes. Innov8av is an authorized Savant dealer, and also an authorized Lutron and Snap One dealer. The work is performed under our California C-10 Electrical Contractor licence, CSLB #1043428, by Innov8av's own technicians, and every installation carries a 1-year parts-and-labor warranty.

Where in Los Angeles do you install Savant home automation?

Everywhere in Los Angeles County — Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, the Hollywood Hills, Hancock Park, Pasadena, Calabasas and the South Bay — plus all of Orange County and Ventura County. Same-day response for existing clients, and a free on-site design consultation for new projects.

Are your Savant programmers in-house or subcontracted?

In-house. Innov8av's own technicians design, install, program and service every Savant system we take on — no subcontracted crews and no outsourced programming — so scene changes, firmware updates and troubleshooting go back to the people who built the system. Same-day response, and same-day on-site for existing clients.

What networking hardware do you install under a Savant system?

Savant's host and its IP audio and video ride entirely on the network, so we never run a Savant system on the internet provider's gateway alone. As an authorized Snap One dealer we deploy Araknis and Pakedge routing, switching and access points on a wired Cat6 backbone to every rack and processor, PoE for cameras and access points, and a segmented network (VLANs) that keeps control traffic apart from guest devices. Every network component is listed by part number in the written proposal.

Who supports the system after the installation?

The same local technicians who installed it. Every Savant installation carries a 1-year parts-and-labor warranty, with same-day response and same-day on-site for existing clients — call or text (805) 517-4668, Mon–Fri 8–6 and Sat 9–3. When we take over a system another dealer installed, the response-time window is agreed in writing and you receive the admin credentials and the system documentation.

Next step

Talk through the Savant fit before anything is specified

If Savant feels close to the right answer, the next step is a free consultation to confirm the property type, supporting systems and real workflow expectations.
Already have Savant?

Need service, repair or a system takeover — not a new install?

We service and repair existing Savant systems across Los Angeles, and adopt orphaned systems if your original dealer disappeared — licensed (ACO 7755, C-10), since 2016.

The next step

Talk it through before anything is specified

The most useful conversation about Savant happens before the equipment list exists. Tell us what you want the house to do and we will tell you what that actually takes, including when Savant is not the right answer. Text is often easiest — send a photo of the room or the plans and we will reply.

STEP 1

You call, text or email

What the property is, roughly how many rooms are involved, and what stage you are at — drawings, framing, or finished house. About ten minutes, no visit needed yet.

STEP 2

We walk it. Free.

We look at the rooms, the rack location, the network, and what your builder or designer has already committed to. If your timeline is not realistic we tell you on the day rather than later.

STEP 3

You get a written scope

Room by room, naming the actual equipment and the price, plus what we would leave out. Something you can compare against another bid line for line. Nobody arrives with a contract.

“Will you talk to my architect, designer or builder directly?”

Yes, and the earlier the better. If the walls are still open we can agree conduit runs, back-boxes and keypad positions with your team rather than working around decisions already made. Put us on the email thread and we will answer in writing.

“I do not want visible boxes and keypads everywhere.”

Neither do we. Equipment belongs in a rack in a closet, not on a wall you look at. Keypad count is something we argue down, not up, and we will show you where each one goes before anything is cut.

“Do I have to replace everything I already have?”

Usually not. Existing wiring, speakers, shades and in some cases the processors can stay. Send us a photo of the rack and the front of the equipment and we will tell you what is worth keeping before we visit.

“How much is this going to be?”

Savant is priced by the number of rooms and by what each room has to do, not by a package, so an honest number needs a walk-through. The visit is free and you get a written scope naming actual equipment before you commit to anything. See the cost calculator for a starting range.

“Who answers the phone in year three?”

The same number you called first. We service what we install, and we take on systems other companies walked away from — which is exactly why we get called about them. Ask us this on the first call; it is a fair question and most people forget to ask it.

“How disruptive is this going to be to the household?”

We schedule around you, we work clean, and we tell you in advance which days involve noise or access to which rooms. Same crew throughout, so you are not meeting new people every morning.

“Is Savant even the right platform for me?”

Sometimes it is not, and we will say so. Savant earns its place on larger homes with real audio, lighting and shade integration. For a smaller project or a mostly-security brief there are simpler answers. See smart home automation for the wider picture.

“I am comparing bids. What should I be looking at?”

Ask every bidder for the equipment list by room, who holds the programming file afterwards, and what a service call costs in year two. Those three answers separate quotes that look identical on price. We will answer all three in writing without being asked.
